First Real Snow of The Season!

It started snowing Monday 11/30/15. These two pictures were taken at 9 p.m.! Macie LOVED playing in the snow, and though Ash is not the biggest snow fan, he stayed out and played with his younger sister. :) Sweet boy.

This picture was taken the next morning, Tuesday 12/1/15. It was still snowing at this point. We end up with 4" total. Zeke started my car for me to warm it up, scrapped ice off the windshield and shoveled the walk way. What a great guy! :)

 Macie's snowman, Cuddle Wuddle.

Asher's snowman, Tiny.

This picture was taken Friday (12/4/15) after the snow had started to melt. Zeke was sick with strep so was unable to sled. For that reason I was unable to take them to a hill to sled, so we used the front yard. :) Not a huge area, and I had to stand on the side walk to prevent them from sliding into the road. They played out here Thursday and Friday and did not want to come in! We all look forward to more snow and more family sledding!
I love snow. Anyone who knows me knows that I have an insane love of snow. And what I've noticed lately is, whenever something in particular has happened to cause a bad day or cause a little upset, we have flurries. Yes, you can say it's a coincidence, but it seems to do this on those types of days every time. That Monday-Tuesday were especially upsetting. Like, without saying what happened, it was just bad, you'll have to believe me on it. And then that night it didn't just flurry, it snowed, up to 4" of snow. And so now when I look back on those two days, I don't think of the bad that happened, but the beautiful snow that God layered the ground in. How great is our God?!

Silly Zeke!

Ash is buds with the little drummer boy!

Standing like soldiers.

This snowman was made out of cups and lights!

Every kid by a tree. :)

There's a house a few blocks over from us that fully decked out for Christmas. They welcome guests to walk around. It is pretty neat! They accept donations which are going for their father's cancer treatment. We had a lovely time...it was snowing (you can't tell from pictures) and we ended up getting about 4" of snow.

My Sister

Kind of cheesy but oh-so-true. My big sister is truly amazing. She hasn't had it easy, but she is very self-less, strong, determined, wise. We've had our share of ups and downs over the years, but I think our friendship has grown stronger. She has calmed me down I don't know how many times! She asks how I am and she talks me through things, it's not some short and insecure question. She encourages me. I just love her, k? ;) And I felt the need to share this. I'm lucky to have her. Oh-so blessed. Thankful. Thank you Jesus. I love my sister!

Homemade Laundry Detergent Recipe

I've been making my own laundry detergent on and off (mostly on) for the last 4 years. Recently I stumbled across a new recipe even more simple/easy/quick than the one I've been using all along. This is a dry recipe. So here ya go!

These are the ingredients you'll need.
Borax, Washing Soda, and Fels Naptha.

These are the utensils you'll need
A measuring cup, grater, and a bowl/container to store the detergent.

Add one cup of Borax, one cup of Washing Soda and grate the entire bar of Fels Naptha in your bowl.

Mix it all together and there ya go! You will use 1-2 tbs per load of laundry.

Optional: Can add 15-20 drops of your choice essential oil.

Enjoy! :)

Sick Macie...EO Testimony

This week my Macie has come down with a cold. And oh wow! THE COUGH AND CONGESTION!! So the other day in particular was rough and I was for sure we were in for an endless night of no sleep. And it finally hit me...DUH, OILS!! Thieves to fight off illness and build immunity, and RC for cough and congestion. COUGHING STOPPED and we slept straight through the night! Love my oils!
